Week 2: Penis Mightiers

Franklin 22 P&P 9

Recap:
They were sitting on a gold mine with those Penis Mightiers, but not on this evening. Close game up until the 3rd then it was all Force. A vintage TFI game, we played great defense, hit the ball all over the place, and somewhere, in a small unlit NYC studio apartment, Ryan Vellia sobbed softly.

The Good: Tucker hit the ball well up the middle. Management certainly was impressed and wants to see more of that. New 3rd sacker Mickey something, dusted off the ghosts of Haroon Vellia and played spectacular defense, Adam Siebert hit the ball well, earning the respect of a SPTR scout who was there, and also made a great catch somewhere in the woods on P&P's Steve Lynch moonshot. 4 of their runs came on a grand slam by P&P's Mark Nevins who put one through the goal post so the Management was pleased with how few runs overall the team surrender. Incidentally, Management noticed that Nevins' shot did not lead to an onfield altercation a la 3 years ago versus an unknown artistic team. TFI must be maturing....well, except for Buddy (reigning Nick Ventrola Memorial Award Winner). Top of the order mashed the ball and everyone played well all around. Pete Kellepourey made quite possibly the best slide into home plate to avoid a tag that the Management has seen in this league. Additionally, Ventrola's dive to end the game (despite being unnecessary, dangerous, and drunken, thus why the Award is named) was equally amazing.

The Bad: Not too much went against the Force. No Ed Wagner. Rookie Alyssa played in jeans channeling TFI circa 2004 P&P Captain Bob Ford did not play....again. Weak.

TFI Mystique (formerly The Ugly): P&P outfielder Lynch went 0-3. Management doesn't want to say we Benson'd him so we'll let someone else say it.

Quote of the Day:

"That shortstop Benson'd me."
Steve Lynch
